Kathy Jesse is a transplant to the Washington, D.C., area, but is a Hoosier at heart. In her 40’s, after more than 20 years as a newspaper journalist, she embarked upon a new career as a high school English teacher. She later taught journalism at Ball State University and DePauw University. Now semi-retired, she is back in high schools, where she works as a writing coach. She has two daughters, a sassy 5-year-old granddaughter, and a pit bull puppy.
