Candy Sagon is an award-winning food and health writer. She was born and raised in Los Angeles, graduating from UCLA and the University of Michigan. She became food editor for the Dallas Times Herald and then was a staff writer for The Washington Post, where she won a James Beard Foundation award for food feature writing. She was an assistant health editor at AARP, where she wrote about health research for the association’s publications and website, and currently writes about health and nutrition for a number of publications. She has two grown children and a grandson.
